Well, we weren't kidding. We're finally happy to unveil the mystery and come clean.<br /><br /><div align="center">A short while ago Justin Hampton of PNE was contacted by movie director Todd Phillips. He explained that he wanted to do something special for the cast and crew of his movie 'The Hangover,' as it had become the highest grossing comedy of all time. A great rapport developed and Phillips commissioned PNE for a special project. Todd asked Hampton to oversee the art direction of his vision with PNE. He wanted Justin, Emek and Jermaine to create a set of commemorative rock-art style prints that embraced the no-holds-barred and reckless abandon of his hit film. "Make the posters...just wrong" he said. With this inspiration, the trifecta set out to do just that. After months in development the project is now finished and the set of 3 prints is complete, each showcasing a different slant on the film.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"></div></div><div align="center"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 310px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 249px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://www.pne3.com/hangover/Todd_Justin_sm.jpg" /></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:85%;">Pictured above: Todd Phillips and Justin Hampton</span> </div><div align="center"><br />Recently, Justin flew to Los Angeles and met with Todd at his editing studio in Malibu to finalize the project and deliver the prints in person. Todd and everyone at the production company were instantly in love with the set. The prints are now all on their way to the homes of all of the cast and crew.<br /><br />In a special arrangement with Todd, he has agreed to let PNE release a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community. This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released this week.<br /><br />The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. There is also a very limited edition of only 25 variant sets printed on holographic foil stock.<br /><br />Justin Hampton's print focuses in on everyone's favorite little baby from the film; Carlos- the unofficial 'fifth member' of the Hangover bachelor crew. And yes, his stripper-mother (portrayed by the lovely Heather Graham) also makes an appearance in this print. Todd Phillips said "This poster is hilarious!...Amazing colors!"<br /><br />Emek's vision encompassed the totality of the film: he adds a highly detailed collage of images from the film, anchored by the sun-glassed 'Alan', portrayed by Zach Galifianakis. Everything from major stars to tiny details is pictured in this print: can you find all the references? Todd said about this print what most folks say about an Emek print: "Look at the detail!"<br /><br />Jermaine Rogers' poster focuses on one of the most memorable moments of the film: the Tyson scene. Jermaine depicts Tyson under the spell of Phil Collins, whose visage hovers 'Big Brother'-like, in the darkness. Tyson raises his cigarette lighter in creepy homage. This print also glows in the dark! Todd Phillips remarked, "Tyson is gonna LOVE this!"<br /><br />Again, a limited amount of these sets are being released to the public. PNE enjoyed working with Todd Phillips on this project, and certainly have laid the groundwork to do similar projects in this arena in the future. </div><div align="center"><br /><br /><strong>PNE: 'The Hangover' Set</strong></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">In a special arrangement with Todd Phillips, director of the record-breaking hit film 'The Hangover', PNE is releasing a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community.<br /><br />This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at 12 Noon Pacific (3pm Eastern.) The print will be released on the official Post Neo Explosionism website: </div><div align="center"><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://www.pne3.com/buy.html">http://www.pne3.com/buy.html</a></div><br /><div align="center">The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. The image is sort of an inside-joke between PNE and Todd: it showcases the mysterious and raunchy 'Mr. Creepy' (remember the scene in the elevator?) He appears, under different credited names, in many of Phillips' films... always involved in the weirdest scenarios. In the film "Road Trip," he makes an appearance on the bus, wearing a track suit and a curly black wig. He makes a cameo near the start of "Old School," again, wearing a track suit and the same curly black wig. The character also appeared briefly in "The Hangover" - again, remember the elevator scene? If you pay attention and do enough scouting around, you'll be able to find out just who 'Mr. Creepy' actually is. Let's just say that Todd Phillips absolutely LOVED this print, cleverly put together in beautiful day-glow by Justin Hampton. </div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><strong>Limit of one of each set per buyer. They have come together in an unprecedented union of talents that began with a group showing of their works in Seattle in the fall of 2002 at the famed Showbox Theater. Here, the seeds of PNE were sown. The now-historic two-night showing of their works included performances from numerous bands that played in their honor including solo sets from Doug Martch from Built To Spill and Dave Mercer from The Shins. The immense display of over ten thousand square feet of rock posters and music was greeted with a massive turnout and outstanding reviews.<br /><br />Hampton, Emek and Rogers each have been working in the field since the early ’90s. Though relatively young, they have over 30 years of professional experience between them. Collectively, they own over 2500 images that have been used in work for a who’s who of rock and music ICONS. Each artist brings his own significant fan base to the table. Like the Impressionists of the late 19th century, PNE realized that there was strength in numbers: they could make a real mark together as a united front. They draw upon many artistic influences, especially those of the Explosionists. Melding high-impact imagery with solid content, the Explosionists were known for their works of controversy. Decades later, the Neo-Explosionists continued this tradition, taking it a step further by creating new mediums for their work to flourish.www.pne3.com.com<br /><br />Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City. Creating art about people and their odd ways, her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in their eyes. Recalling many issues from childhood and good old life experience, she creates images that are thought provoking and seductive. People and their relationships are a central theme throughout her work.<br /><br />Tara exhibits her paintings and serigraphs in fine art galleries all over the world. Named the crown princess of poster art by ELLE Magazine, she has created numerous gig posters for rock bands such as Beck, Modest Mouse, and The Melvins. Her array of art also includes creating toys with companies like Kidrobot, Dark Horse, and Toy2R, painted comics and covers for DC Vertigo, advertising and editorial illustrations for companies such as Widen+Kennedy and Spin Magazine, and teaching a class at Parsons in NYC.<br /><br />McPherson’s art has been included in books such as Lost Constellations; The Art of Tara McPherson Vol II (Dark Horse), Lonely Heart: The Art of Tara McPherson (Dark Horse), Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall (DC), The Art of Modern Rock (Chronicle), Illusive 2, Illustration Now! (Taschen), SWAG and SWAG 2 (Abrams), and more. Her art has also been featured in the Oscar Award winning film Juno.<br /><br />Tara was born in San Francisco in 1976 and raised in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from Art Center in Pasadena, CA in August 2001 with honors in Illustration and a minor in Fine Art.www.taramcpherson.com<br /><br />Cole Gerst/Option-G is an artist, illustrator, designer and animator based in the Mount Washington area of LA. His “Yung Yeti” cartoon airs on the Sundance Channel later this year and a pilot for another network is in the works. To top it off Gerst has two monthly comics in the LA Weekly, “The Good Life City” and “LaLa Land”.<br /><br />In his spare time you can find Cole tearing up the hills of LA on his 1978 Puch Free Spirit or hanging with his 2 German Shepherds.http://www.option-g.com<br /><br />ZOLTRON is an enigma. A self proclaimed 70’s teen idol, Zoltron’s wave hairdo and unique California accent epitomized a certain level of cool, which inevitably paved the way to his success as a graphic designer, poster and street artist, pseudo- photographer and vinyl sticker aficionado. Zoltron is the founder and creative director of the self-titled design company as well as the notorious silkscreen sticker printing company, Sticker Robot. Zoltron’s artwork has been shown across the country, has been published in national and international magazines and was once called “Pretty Heavy” by a transient who was urinating on a dumpster as Zoltron walked by.http://stickerobot.comhttp://zoltron.com<br /><br />DAVE HUNTER is an Alumni of The California College of the Arts in Oakland and the Center for Electronic Arts San Francisco, Dave Hunter has been involved in the Bay Area rock art/music scene for 23 years. Dave went on to to work in the Bill Graham Archives and was in charge of framing and installing poster art at The Fillmore, The Warfield and Shoreline Ampitheater music venues.<br />From these Rock Art rich backgrounds Dave began to design and produce rock art for Bay Area Bands, Record Labels and Venues. Eventually getting back to his roots in printmaking, Hunter has created hand silkscreened posters for the likes of Metallica, Sly & The Family Stone, Gov’t Mule, The Decemberists, Throbbing Gristle and Les Claypool – some of which are featured in the new Goldenvoice San Francisco poster series. After 15 years for creating them I simply needed a break so I spent the last nine months working on commercial jobs and making art prints. This Friday marks my return to creating rock posters. I'm pleased to announce that it's for a very pivotal band from DC that influenced countless musicians from the mid-eighties to present. In the spirit of that era I'm offering this bad boy at a price from that the beginning of my career. Consider it the 'Hampton stimulus package'. The concept was developed by myself and New York writer Andrea Grant; also known as the 'Pin-Up Poet'. Our collaboration is a retelling of classic fairytales with a modern, twisted slant in a collaboration of 12 illustrated poems. Each peice consists of 2 limited edition prints per story released simultaneously.<br /><br />Andrea and I met in New York City in September of 2005 at a Neil Gaiman 'Save CBGB's' reading the day after my showing with PNE (Post Neo Explosionism) at the CBGB 313 Gallery. We quickly realized we shared a very similar aesthetic and began scheming a creation to sink our creative teeth into. Our version of the stories are set in modern day New York City and reflect the cultural diversity and tone of the greatest urban landscape in the world while maintaining the essence of the original tales. The stories are designed in a classic fairytale book format and will read side to side as though turning the pages in a tome that you can walk through. They came together in an unprecedented union of talents that began with a group showing of their works in the fall of 2002 at Seattle's famed Showbox Theater. Here, the seeds of PNE were sown. The three artists soon elevated their creative experiment to a new level. From 2002-2005, PNE helped pioneer the idea of the 'poster series' by creating prints for each of the dates of tours by Queens Of The Stone Age, Audioslave, and Built To Spill (respectively). </div><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;">**QUICK INFO**</span></div><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;">STICKERS: Available Friday May 8, 2009, at arandom time between 11AM and 2PM Pacific Time, details below.</span></div><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;">PNE'S FIRST-EVER COLLABORATIVE PRINT: Available later this month; keep your eye on PNE3.com for details.</span></div><br /><div><a style="FONT-SIZE: 11px; COLOR: #ff6600; FONT-STYLE: normal; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, sans-serif; TEXT-DECORATION: none" href="http://www.justinhampton.com/"><span style="font-size:100%;">Justin Hampton</span></a>, <a style="FONT-SIZE: 11px; COLOR: #ff6600; FONT-STYLE: normal; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, sans-serif; TEXT-DECORATION: none" href="http://www.emek.net/"><span style="font-size:100%;">Emek</span></a> and <a style="FONT-SIZE: 11px; COLOR: #ff6600; FONT-STYLE: normal; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, sans-serif; TEXT-DECORATION: none" href="http://www.jermainerogers.com/"><span style="font-size:100%;">Jermaine Rogers</span></a> each have been working in the field of 'pop art' since the early '90s. I spent one week in Washington DC for the Inauguration art exhibit 'Manifest Hope:DC' where I had a painting on display along side Shepard Fairey, Ron English, David Choe and countless others. It was an amazing event celebrating the art of the Obama campaign and his historic Inauguration. The 4 day event was incredible! The closing party was a blast, there were countless celebrities including Rosario Dawson who Emceed the event and musical guests De La Soul, Santogold and Moby. I then spent a week in NYC having meetings and seeing friends. Now it's back to work and I've got tons of it to get to.
