In the News...

City of Angels exhibition next month!

'Gunning for Trouble'

My latest exhibition is in Los Angeles in Culver City at a cool new gallery called SubSpace Art right across from the Kirk Douglas Theater. The show features myself and LA artist Jim Mahfood. He's a great illustrator and comic book artist who has done work for Playboy, Mad Magazine and about every comic company under the sun! Defintely worth checking out.

I'm going to be showing a plethora of posters, art prints, original art and paintings. There will be new some peices unveiled that will only be available at the showing so do not miss this show!

I have the pleasure to announce that one of new favorite bands will be performing at the gallery event...SWEETHEAD with Troy Van Leeuewn (Queens of the Stone Age) and Serrina are planning something very special. The backing band is from The Mark Lanegan Band's Bubblegum album, Norm Block and Eddie Nappi. If you haven't checked them out yet, so yourself a favor and check them out, they rule!

http://www.myspace.com/sweethead

This is going to be quite the event and party, there's going to be a DJ spinning a cool R&B Soul mix, a vapor bar next door screening a projection of my animation 'The Jaded Monk' and much more. There's also going to be a silent auction held for the Hollywood Rock Academy with autographed guitars by Coldplay and Green Day and some big surpise items as well.

I hope to see you there!

Look to the press release for more detailed info here:

New Pearl Jam from Hampton!

Pearl Jam -Hartford, CT

I was specifically asked by PJ's management to make the theme ofthis poster geographic so I based it on Mark Twain's 'TheAdventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn' as MT lived inHartford, CT when he wrote it. It's also based on a famous paintingby Norman Rockwell of the white washing the fence scene in thebook. I gave it a modern twist with skater kids wheat pasting thefence with a Pearl Jam poster.

The text at the bottom reads:

'T-Bomb' Sawyer shows 'Chuckles' Barry Finn the fun and fine art ofwheat pasting fences. (Apologies to the legendary late NormanRockwell) This is an eight color screen print on 100 lb acid free paper stockmeasuring 18"x 24". Signed and numbered edition of only 100 prints. No artist proofs and no special editions, this main run is it!

On sale Tuesday May 18th between 12 noon and 1pm PST at a random time. One per customer, no exceptions. Thanks!

PNE: The Hangover poster set on sale this Thursday

PNE: 'The Hangover' Set
Scroll down for images and more info.
Available this Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at 12 Noon Pacific(3pm Eastern; 2pm Central; 1pm Mountain; 12noon Pacific)
Scroll down for images and more info.

Ok, for a while we've been hinting at something big in the works for PNE, and a bit different from what we've released in the past. Well, we weren't kidding. We're finally happy to unveil the mystery and come clean.

A short while ago Justin Hampton of PNE was contacted by movie director Todd Phillips. He explained that he wanted to do something special for the cast and crew of his movie 'The Hangover,' as it had become the highest grossing comedy of all time. A great rapport developed and Phillips commissioned PNE for a special project. Todd asked Hampton to oversee the art direction of his vision with PNE. He wanted Justin, Emek and Jermaine to create a set of commemorative rock-art style prints that embraced the no-holds-barred and reckless abandon of his hit film. "Make the posters...just wrong" he said. With this inspiration, the trifecta set out to do just that. After months in development the project is now finished and the set of 3 prints is complete, each showcasing a different slant on the film.
Pictured above: Todd Phillips and Justin Hampton

Recently, Justin flew to Los Angeles and met with Todd at his editing studio in Malibu to finalize the project and deliver the prints in person. Todd and everyone at the production company were instantly in love with the set. The prints are now all on their way to the homes of all of the cast and crew.

In a special arrangement with Todd, he has agreed to let PNE release a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community. This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released this week.

The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. There is also a very limited edition of only 25 variant sets printed on holographic foil stock.

Justin Hampton's print focuses in on everyone's favorite little baby from the film; Carlos- the unofficial 'fifth member' of the Hangover bachelor crew. And yes, his stripper-mother (portrayed by the lovely Heather Graham) also makes an appearance in this print. Todd Phillips said "This poster is hilarious!...Amazing colors!"

Emek's vision encompassed the totality of the film: he adds a highly detailed collage of images from the film, anchored by the sun-glassed 'Alan', portrayed by Zach Galifianakis. Everything from major stars to tiny details is pictured in this print: can you find all the references? Todd said about this print what most folks say about an Emek print: "Look at the detail!"

Jermaine Rogers' poster focuses on one of the most memorable moments of the film: the Tyson scene. Jermaine depicts Tyson under the spell of Phil Collins, whose visage hovers 'Big Brother'-like, in the darkness. Tyson raises his cigarette lighter in creepy homage. This print also glows in the dark! Todd Phillips remarked, "Tyson is gonna LOVE this!"

Again, a limited amount of these sets are being released to the public. PNE enjoyed working with Todd Phillips on this project, and certainly have laid the groundwork to do similar projects in this arena in the future.

PNE: 'The Hangover' Set
In a special arrangement with Todd Phillips, director of the record-breaking hit film 'The Hangover', PNE is releasing a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community.

This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at 12 Noon Pacific (3pm Eastern.) The print will be released on the official Post Neo Explosionism website:

The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. PNE is also releasing a very limited edition of only 25 variant sets printed on holographic foil stock.

- PNE 'The Hangover' Print Set (Signed & numbered edition of 100 sets) - $150.00 USD + Shipping - PNE 'The Hangover' Print Set HOLOGRAPHIC FOIL (Signed & numbered edition of 25 sets) - $200.00 USD + Shipping

As a bonus, PNE is giving 4 lucky buyers the opportunity to snag some very limited gifts!

One buyer will receive his complete set of 'Hangover' prints signed by director Todd Phillips!

Each print will be signed by the artist, as well as Todd.

One buyer will receive an additional set of 'Hangover' test prints, along with their order.

Two buyers will receive an additional BONUS print, created exclusively for Todd Phillips only and not made available at all to the general public.

This bonus print (pictured below) was produced as a gift from PNE to Todd Phillips and the cast and crew of 'The Hangover'. The image is sort of an inside-joke between PNE and Todd: it showcases the mysterious and raunchy 'Mr. Creepy' (remember the scene in the elevator?) He appears, under different credited names, in many of Phillips' films... always involved in the weirdest scenarios. In the film "Road Trip," he makes an appearance on the bus, wearing a track suit and a curly black wig. He makes a cameo near the start of "Old School," again, wearing a track suit and the same curly black wig. The character also appeared briefly in "The Hangover" - again, remember the elevator scene? If you pay attention and do enough scouting around, you'll be able to find out just who 'Mr. Creepy' actually is. Let's just say that Todd Phillips absolutely LOVED this print, cleverly put together in beautiful day-glow by Justin Hampton.

Limit of one of each set per buyer. Absolutely no holds are reservations: first come / first served.

Available at 12 Noon Pacific / 3pm Eastern /19:00:00 UTC on Thursday March 18th, here:

See you on Thursday!
